Hello, this is Scott Lyons with some important information from Leesville Road High School.

We are sending home some important information with your student today regarding your school choice options for the 2012-13 school year.

Your student will bring home an assignment strip indicating his or her school assignment for the 2012-13 school year, transportation information and feeder pattern.

If you are happy with your student’s assignment, you do not have to do anything else.

If you want to explore other school options, you may also want to attend one of the information sessions on school choice. Please check the WCPSS website for meeting dates and locations.

Review the timeline for important dates. December 5-19 is magnet selection time. For the Early Colleges and Leadership Academies, applications are due January 13. If you want to seek a different school, the first round of choice selections begins January 17.

Also, all 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will bring home a letter tomorrow (click here for digital copy of letter) about some changes and additions to the North Carolina Testing program that affect students in those grades. Please make sure you ask your student to see the letter. The letter will also be sent through Yahoo and placed on the Leesville Road High School Website in case the letter is misplaced or in case 9th grade parents would like to see the changes that have been made.
