PAC MINUTES OCTOBER 3, 2005

John Lemanowicz opened the meeting at 7:12.

Mike Lough read the minutes from the September meeting, which were approved.

Treasurers Report – John Lemanowicz

John summarized the Treasurer's Report and noted balances for all accounts, totaling $77,327, discussed the inflows and outflows as indicated in Fred Wollman's Treasurers Report, and discussed the program ads.

Treasurers Report was approved.

Memberships – John Lemanowicz

John reported that we currently have 255 members, of which 208 are family memberships and that sponsorships totaled over $32,500, up over $7K from last year.  A desire was mentioned to increase PAC meeting attendance of members. Membership portion approved.

Concessions – Sharon Jaeger

Sharon discussed the numbers, with over $3200 coming in from that last game.  The new Pepsi cooler should arrive 9/4/05 and approx. $1000 was spent on a new popcorn popper. A desire exists for new shelving, at about $1200 per unit. A motion was made to replace the other popcorn popper due to a broken window, which was approved.

Spirit Committee – John Lemanowicz

John provided an overview of Spirit happenings, including an authorized $1000 for the committee for senior night, with glowing necklaces, pom-poms, towels and Loonies available as well.

Old Business

A request was made to get the band and the students closer. A discussion for playing other music, like Apex who played the 007 theme, ensued.

The flower sales were lower than last year, due to numerous circumstances.  It is felt that team reps could help drive them next year.

Passes for past Presidents can into play again, with the belief it would be a good gesture and that it wouldn't cost much to do so. Coach Hamilton will provide a list of Presidents in the area.

Band cookies sales not great, may provide remainder to other teams. Also, 10 Loonies were donated to each team coach.

Elementary school section is still desired, possibly on the other side of the band. Smaller Loonies were ordered and are being sold for them.

Parent Loonies were also ordered in blue, and should be available.

Coach Hamilton to remind coaches to attend winter team meetings.

Coaches Night was a success and many Thank You's were given and desired.

Leesville hosting CAP-7 Conf meet, where shirts and the concession stand should be available.

A discussion for a way to get a brick design from the students was discussed.

A discussion ensued about a baseball scoreboard. Initial costs around $5100 were mentioned, with more information due at the November meeting. A loose wire and speaker problems were also discussed, with the possibility of a speaker system needed to be put on the “wish list.”

A “wish List” was provided, not in priority order, for use in future discussions on best uses of PAC funds.

New Business

A question was raised whether any other contributors besides PAC, gave to the Bus Fund.

A discussion over the use of email to support attendance at non-mainstream schools would help.

The meeting adjourned at 8:30.
