Character Education is an important component in the Wake County Public School System curriculum.  Schools are encouraged to promote and integrate the character traits in their classroom experiences.  Leesville Road High School recognizes its importance and has established the Character Education committee.  Through that committee faculty members are afforded the opportunity to nominate students during the year for one of the character education traits.  Nominated students receive a certificate.  The list of nominated students is posted in the lobby of the school.  At the end of the school year, two students, one male and one female, will be selected by the committee to receive an award based on receipt of the greatest number of certificates.

The character traits are:  courage, self-discipline, perseverance, integrity, respect, responsibility, kindness, and good judgment.  Support character education at Leesville Road High School by encouraging your student to practice these traits.
